|Word of the Week Competition|
The Library at Haylands is at the heart of the school and aims to provide our pupils with an outstanding area for reading that is friendly, stimulating and well resourced.
Our aim is to furnish the pupils with the skills and enthusiasm they need to become lifelong readers and researchers.
We offer the school a tranquil area that promotes the love of books and reading.
Our Librarian is on hand to offer guidance with book choice, and to offer library services to the whole school community, including families and younger siblings. We are open as a drop-in centre on Wednesday afternoons until 4:30. You are welcome to come and choose books or share a story with your children. Family accounts, with which you can check out up to 10 books, are available – just ask.
We are working at the moment to give the entire school community access to the Library catalogue, to check which books have been borrowed and which may still be owed. This will be accessible via a link from this page, which will allow you to search the library stock, as well as viewing new books, ‘top ten reads’ and the pupils’ own reviews.
Enquiries from and liaison with parents and carers is actively encouraged.
I look forward to meeting you all.
Miss K Pope
