Animals including Humans

During our science lessons this term we have looked at how amazing our bodies are! We are leaning about the names of some of our bones in our skeleton and why it is important that we have one.

We will be learning about how our muscles work and how they work with each other to make our body move.

Furthermore, we shall be looking at our diet and how our diet can help our body perform.

For our first reading unit we shall be reading about the human body, linking to our science lessons. We will be learning about different strategies we can use to help us understand new words. 

Furthermore, we shall learn how to select and retrieve information from a text to answer different questions, using skills such as skim and scan. 

Autumn 1

3.1 Number - place value; addition and subtraction. 

With our first maths unit, we shall be learning about different strategies we can use to support our addition and subtraction, such as knowing our number bonds to 10, and how this can help us when going into hundreds and partitioning numbers to support our subtractions. 

We will be using a range of resources to support our learning such as dienes and counters. 

Grammarsaurus 

With our new grammarsaurus writing, we are learning about different word classes, such as different types of nouns and verbs. We shall learn how sentences are constructed and how we can use this to create our own sentences.
