Friends of Haylands

The “Friends of Haylands” is a fantastic group of enthusiastic parents, grandparents and friends of the school. As a parent you are automatically a member of this group.

Why are we needed?
Government funding to schools today does not provide the ‘extras’ we all want our children to enjoy, such as lunchtime games equipment, developing the school grounds or purchasing items to extend children’s learning opportunities. We have already bought many playtime games to promote happy and healthy lunchtimes.

How does the ‘Friends of Haylands’ work?
Every parent is welcome to volunteer. We meet once or twice a half term depending on events. We organise a range of activities from Bonfire Nights to Christmas Bazaars, Discos and Summer Fetes. We welcome any new ideas for possible events.

We hope to achieve a balance of social and fund raising occasions.

What can you do?
As little or as much as you want. New ideas are always welcome. If going to meetings is not for you, then why not donate something towards events, raffle prizes, cakes etc. Come along and lend a hand on the day or by simply coming along you are giving us your support.
