FIZ: (Family Information Zone)
What can FIZ offer?
A Free Impartial Information & Signposting Service within FIZ for Children,Young People (up to 25 years) with Learning Difficulties or Disabilities (LDD) and their Families.
The Information Officer in place specifically for those parents/carers and families is Lesley Forde.They can provide families with information on activities, events, news and issues that are relevant to their needs.
Information can be accessed through:
Attending parent groups and forums.
Support for parents to find appropriate childcare or day care services.
Support for parents to access alternative funding to meet family needs.

You can contact FIZ by telephone on 01983 821999, email: email@example.com or drop in to the shop front at 11 Orchard Street, Newport, PO30 1JZ (next to the Lord Louis Library and the bus station). We are open from 9.30am – 4.00pm, no appointment is necessary.
St Catherines school open day:
St Catherines school is dedicated to helping children with speech, language and communication needs and associated conditions such as ASD, Asperger syndrome, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. Currently, children aged 12 to 19 can be catered for, but this is to change from September 2014 to include KS2 children from 8 years and above. To find out more information, please attend the open day on 28th March 2014

The organization Barnado’s is a registered children’s charitythat offers advice and support when you need it most from a qualified counsellor.
Short breaks Activities
Short Breaks is a statutory service funded by the
Early Intervention Grant and aims to increase activity
opportunities available for children and young people
with disabilities and/or additional needs to participate
in. This in-turn provides a ‘short break’ for parents/carers
while their child or young person participates in a safe,
fun and enjoyable activity which meets their needs.
Children’s Bereavement service
This service offers help and advice to parents/ carers and children with all aspects of bereavement and emotional support during difficult times.
